This Fall there are some big things going on for me and my family. The two biggest? DevilPup starts kindergarten. My husband deploys.
We all know that when your kids finally enter into formal grade school, you have to start planning life around that schedule. Sure, I’m a scheduled and structured person anyway, but this narrows down the flexibility even more.
So I want to do a few fun things with my family this Summer that we can do with very little planning involved.
With my husband deploying, this just became all the more important. Only, instead of having family ONLY activities, I have a couple MOMMY ONLY activities thrown in as well. What can I say, my husband is going to be gone anywhere from 7 to 12 months, so I figure I need to take advantage of every moment of him being home that I can. Including ME TIME!
So here is my bucket list. It’s not large, only 15 items, but I wanted to make sure that it was achievable. I also wanted to make sure it was visible to me at all times, so I wrote down on 15 popsicle sticks each of my To-Do’s. Putting them in my little Star Spangled Bucket just gave it that extra ‘Summer Touch’ that it needed. A reminder that I am on a deadline. I have promised myself I will complete this list!
- Go to Wild Animal Park
- Family Camping Trip
- DevilPup’s First (with school friends) Birthday Party
- No less than 5 trips to the beach
- MOMMYCATION
- Take DevilPup to his first (movie theater) Movie
- Play Dominos
- Check out the Library on base
- Date Night
- Read AND FINISH 3 books
- Sea World
- Watch the sunset
- Go Geocaching
- Roast marshmallow and make s’mores
- Read a book on the beach
So there it is. All that I want to accomplish by August 24th, which is the last Friday before my son starts school.
Did you make a Summer Bucket List? If so, share it! I’m linking up over at Tutu’s and Tantrum’s blog. Join us!

Love it! I think I need to add a mommycation to mine
I have mine planned out. It’s simple. I’m renting a beach cabin for a weekend, taking a couple bottles of wine and a few books.
(maybe some actual food too!)
Yep THAT sounds like my kind of mommycation! LOL Have a great time!
