Because I want to know all of you…

Happy Military Spouse Appreciation Day!! Nobody knows patience and strength like the military spouse.
I’m so excited to be participating in this blog hop hosted by Riding The Roller Coaster  and Household 6 Diva. And, like the title of this post, I’m participating in hopes to get to know more of you.

So we need to present a short bio of ourselves… ok! Here I go.

I’m Laura. I am a USMC wife, SAHMommy to my (starting this Fall) kindergartner and twin toddler girls. I love coffee and probably drink way too much of it, if there is such a thing, I’m a complete failure at most crafts but try to do them anyway, and I love love love to garden. Oh and bake. I pretty much live in my kitchen and call it my Mommy Cave.
I am a freelance writer and editor, as well as a social media/small brand rep. We all know how hard it can be to help bring in the bacon, but I feel by doing this I’m doing what I can to help contribute.
Are you like me and your resume looks more like a rap sheet? HA!

My husband and my children are my world and universe. My children amaze me on a daily basis, and I’m forever proud of them. (I should probably write about them more)

Semper Fi Momma: Sure ‘Semper Fi’ is commonly associated with Marines, and yes I am a Marine wife. But SFM’s meaning leans more towards being Always Faithful to ourselves as women. Yes we are Always Faithful to our husbands and their respected branches of service, and as momma’s it goes without saying that we’re Always Faithful to our children; constantly putting their needs before our own. But we have to remember that, especially in this life, we need to be Always Faithful to ourselves. It’s too easy to get completely wrapped up in the military life and lose our identities. I started this blog as a place to always have my own space, and from it I’ve not only watched myself grow and change, but have also found where some of my loves and strengths lie. Like in writing/editing.

I’m also working on a new project, Kodomo Sushi. It’s a slow start right now, but I have some pretty big plans/dreams for this…. so I hope you’ll join me there and through my journey.

Let’s connect all over!! I love social media and hope to ‘meet’ you in these places as well. If you ‘like’ or ‘follow’ me drop me a note and say HI!

Thank you so much for stopping by!! It might take me a little while to get to all the blogs in the blog hop but I will make it to every single one of them.
Happy Military Spouse Appreciation Day!!
Enjoy YOUR day :)

I loved your intro and look forward to reading more from you. You are right about being always faithful to ourselves. It is easy to get wrapped up in all the “to-dos” and we forget about doing something for ourselves. As military wives, we sure do need it!

And yes, we do need it. It’s just so easy to get completely wrapped up into this life.

THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!! So glad you stopped by. It’s funny, I’ll admit I have been slacking on my blog reading so I haven’t been to yours in a little while, but I was thinking of you the other day and wondering how you have been doing. :) I guess I’d better stop by your blog soon and catch up.
Hope all is well with you!

    Hi Laura!

I’m visiting from the MilSpouse Blog Hop! Happy Military Spouse Appreciation Day!

It is so nice to meet another SAHM/WAHM. I own my own web design business and I’m a full-time college student. My older son started Kindergarten this past August and let me just say that I cried for days. In Jagger’s case, he always seemed like such a “big boy” until the day I saw him get on the bus with kids that were so much older than he is. It does get easier and now I’m dreading summer break. Haha! He has ADHD and when he’s home, I have very little time to myself.

    It’s nice to “meet” you!

I love your use of Semper Fi. Wonderful.

Your sushi site looks really neat. I hope it gets off the ground for you soon!

      Thank you thank you!!!
My biggest obstacle with the sushi site seems to be my personal time management. But I’m working on that.
Look for some new posts on there. I just posted a great ‘how to’ on making sushi rice, and this week I’m working on Taco Sushi.
