App are great. If you have any type of device that supports them, than I’m sure you have a few you are fond of.
Facebook is definitely one of the apps I use frequently and love. It’s so convenient to have it right there on my phone so I can keep up with those I’m close with, without having to hop on to my computer. Want to share a picture? BAM! Tappity tap click and you’re done. Checking out a new restaurant and want to let your friends know about it? Pow! Clickity tap, and you’ve updated your location and status. And of course you also have the lovely push notification settings that you can turn on or off so if you want to have an uninterrupted outing with no dings or whistles and wait until you’re home again to check updates, you can have that too.
However, I have always had one minor complaint about the app. That I can’t update my Page as my Page. Yes, I can see in the sidebar tab in the app that my SemperFi Momma page has updates or responces, but I can’t reply to them as SemperFi Momma. I can’t post a status as SemperFi Momma. If I want to do that I have to exit the app, log in to Facebook through my browser either on my phone or through my Galaxy Tablet, then click ‘Use Facebook As…’ and then click my page. Not as spiffy and convenient as I’d like.
Today, this has all changed. The Facebook Fairy has granted my one wish. There is now an app that is just for the sole purpose of managing your pages.
May I introduce to you
Facebook Pages Manager App (for iPhone… I don’t think it’s available for Android devices, yet)
You download the app, and it immediately takes you to the login screen.
Once you’re logged in, you’ll be able to start toggling between your pages, should you have more than one you manage. If you just have one page then you will go directly to it. Toggling is just as easy as it is on the regular
FB app. Click the tab in the upper left and corner so your menu options appear. Normally this is where you choose if you’d like to see your News Feed, search for a friend, look at your own profile, etc. In this new app you can choose between your pages, or you can also look at your insights for the page you are currently using.
And? You have push notifications here, as
This? Is pure awesomesauce over a plate of bodaciousness. No. Lie!
If you’re a blogger with a Facebook Fanpage, or a social media freelancer this is a MUST have app. Naturally I’m in love with the fact that I can now easily from my iPhone post as my Page, but I’m also just as thrilled about being able to respond and reply to fans in real time, which is especially important for those who are social media freelancers who manage their clients’ Facebook pages.
(p.s. If you get a notification during download that this app is not yet available, don’t worry it soon will be. Apparently I was one of the lucky few to reap the benefits of an early release glitch. YAY ME!!)
