These are some of the specs on the new Toyota Camry. Cool? Yes. I’m especially in love with the fact that you can stream Pandora. Why? Because it finally gives me an option to play kid friendly tunes in my car without having to drag my ipod with me and hook it up through on of those plug-in, dial in through the stereo, doohickys. That means I can strap my kids in, start the car, buckle up, clickity-tap-tap and just like that we’re listening to the Laurie Berkner Band, or They Must Be Giants, maybe a little Happy Monster Band, and even Dan Zane & Friends. This also means I have happy kids singing along to their favorite songs, without a ton of commercials, and without the worry of inappropriate words popping up in songs that no longer seem to be off limits to the radio.
An app to buy movie tickets?? RAD!! Hello DATE NIGHT! I can envision it now…. Driving to the movies, and haven’t yet decided what to see. And, really, in all fairness we haven’t even had the time to look at what’s playing. So while my Mr. is driving I’m scanning what’s playing when, and with a clickity-tap-tap tickets are bought and all we have to do is show up.
I’m loving the looks of the Reinvented Camry. And I promise, not just because of the over-the-top-uber-cool-gadgets.
Star Safety System™ – includes Enhanced Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), 4-wheel Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA) and Smart Stop Technology (SST). At speeds greater than five miles per hour, when the accelerator is depressed first and the brakes are then applied firmly for longer than one-half second, Smart Stop Technology is designed to help the driver bring the vehicle to a complete stop.
Ten airbags — includes driver and front passenger Advanced Airbag System, driver and front passenger seat-mounted side airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, rear seat-mounted side airbags and front and rear side curtain airbags
Naturally, the mom in me cares very much about safety.
Now if Toyota could really reinvent the rain…. OH! If you haven’t yet seen the commercial then check this out. You’ll get the ‘rain’ thing.

I am a Toyota sales staff at Charles Maund Toyota in Austin, TX. If anyone of yall are in the area come and see me!
Common!! Design of new Toyota is already behind.Nothing new.It more looks like older models from 10 years ago.And Corola is the uglyest car on road in those days.
Cute ad. My Camry is now 17 years old, and +275K miles. Original engine and tranny, this car has been “totaled” by insurance companies twice. Repaired and back on the road – it has been worth the cost of fixing it both times.
Toyota quality? Well – this is the 3rd car that I had to reach this age in years, and the 4th car in my family to exceed 200,000 miles. It was the first to go past 200K on the original engine and tranny – the 2nd is a Saturn. I had a 78 Honda that went to 220K and about the same age before rusting to the point it was unsafe. A Nissan Sentra that went to 230K when the insurance company totaled it after an accident, and I did not have the sense to fix that one – but it had plenty of miles left in it. I had a ’63 TR4 that was 18 years old – but not that many miles – and because of parts availability (lack of) – it became a “Sunday” car and I sold it. I had a Volkswagen Passat – worst car I ever owned – got 55K and the engine died. VW wouldn’t replace the engine.
All that to say – the Camry has been the best of all those vehicles. The most reliable, the longest life. This is why Toyota has a good reputation in my house.
It amazes me how Toyota loves to put lies into their commercials. They are entertaining, for sure. But they give the consumer a false feeling of something that just doesn’t exsist. I’m an ex-Toyota owner, and will never look back. Toyota’s no better than any other car maker on the planet, period. If you think so, well then, sorry you’re so brain washed. Go ahead and feed the Japanese economy why America continues to fall. And, NO, building them here doesn’t help. They’re built by ROBOTS! Not American labor. Another lie that has so many people thinking Toyota is better. Wrong. They are laughing all the way to their Japanese banks.
I strongly disagree. I have owned Toyota cars and trucks, and they are excellent. My first was 1989 Camry and the second was 1996 Land Cruiser. The Cuiser has 206K miles and still looks and runs great. The quality design and the craftsmanship, at least in the two models I have owned, far surpass American made cars that my friends and family have owned (Ford, Chevy, Oldsmobile, Lincoln, etc).
You have forgotten the fact that competition and innovation drives economies like ours. Forcing me to buy a car that was “American made” by “American hands” just to appease the American worker doesn’t fly with me. I buy a car because it is “quality” made. My experience with Chrysler and GM/Pontiac has been abysmal. Their cars plain suck. Yet I buy Honda and Toyota, and I am more than pleased by their products and will keep buying from them. When GM/Ford/Chrysler learn how to make a quality car, they may have my attention, but haven’t seen that yet. I rent a lot of cars, and they are almost all American cars, so I do test drive them regularly.

We are definitely a Toyota family. DH has a Toyota truck, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE my FJ Cruiser! 4.5 years old and still like new. I know I’ll have that vehicle forever.
