Ok. I can’t help it anymore. This SOPA/PIPA shit has me annoyed. If you know about it. Great. If not. Look it up.
Does it affect all of us? Yes.
But you know what else effects all of us?
When the government wants to do a freeze and not pay it’s military.
When the government decides it needs some major cutback and the president decides 500,000 troops need to be cut.
When the government decides that those who have sacrificed everything for the greater good of this country and the people living in it should lose benefits, work with shitty gear, and have their retirement dangled in front of them all because the government decides they just can’t fit the military’s needs in their budget.
[Yet we can afford to spend our valuable tax dollars creating a new Bill on internet regulations. Because that seems to take presidence over the funding of the nations, and the worlds security]
Think this doesn’t effect everyone?
Think that screwing with the nations protection forces doesn’t effect this country?
I hope the next time the government decides they can’t afford to take care of YOUR military you’ll be just as much in arms over their Bill and decisions as you are over SOPA/PIPA.
I am also very upset with the attention celebrities get when the consequences of their bad decisions has left their talent wasted and their lives lost. In the week that Whitney Houston died (yes, tragic to the music industry and her fans) 8 YOUNG Marines died serving on the front lines in Afghanistan. Nothing was mentioned in the news. I was shocked when I heard Houston had passed, but I was deeply saddened by the loss of young life that was voluntarily given up in service to my country. In the week that she died hundreds of new Marines left their families behind to put their lives in danger in attempting to keep the Taliban at bay for the limited time that we have left to be there. And when they come home, many no longer living, there aren’t any that will replace them. So the Taliban will take over where they left off and then the Marine’s lives will be lost for what? Why go over at all if we are packing up and leaving at the end of the year? It’s frustrating that myself and many other military families are suffering the same uneasiness and sadness and all anyone can talk about is Whitney Houston. Where is the validation of our concerns? Why does no one care anymore? Is dying in a war zone not drastic enough anymore?

You nailed exactly what pisses me off about this whole issue. The fact of money. I see where their priorities are.
It’s so frustrating to me. I could rant on some more about the whole thing, but figured it best to stop somewhere.
